Description: Robinia pseudoacacia 'Umbraculifera' is a fast growing, deciduous upright tree with a dense rounded top of soft bright-green foliage. It has pendant racemes of pea like flowers in spring and early summer. Grown as a standard or ball on a stick with a 1.8m high graft. Tolerant of most soils, pollution, frost, drought, and coastal conditions; will need protection in very windy areas. Mop top requires little maintenance to maintain a lovely classical manicured look and can be pruned to a smaller size if needed for smaller areas.
