Common Name: AKA sabatius, Ground Morning Glory
Description: The Convolvulus mauritanicus is a dense and trailing prostrate perennial with slender stems and small oval green leaves. It flowers in Spring through Summer with clusters of open trumpet shaped flowers in lilac blue. Although a fast grower, easy to grow and a prolific groundcover, it is not considered invasive and therefore great for low maintenance areas. Convolvulus performs best in full sun and is tolerant of dry conditions, with a preference for well drained soil with some added humus. Its trailing habit makes it useful for spillover plantings on banks, hanging baskets, in pots or as a groundcover.
