Common Name: Camellia Hiryu

Description: Hiryu Camellias grow vigorously into tall, bushy shrubs, making them an exceptional addition to any garden. Their dark, glossy foliage complements the deep pink blooms, which range from single to semi-double. Thriving in well-drained, slightly acidic, fertile soil, Hiryu Camellias benefit from ample mulching to maintain cool, moist roots during summer. They are well-suited for screens, hedges, large containers, and espaliers, thriving in full sun or partial shade. Originating from a cross between sasanqua and japonica Camellias, Camellia hiemalis embodies the best qualities of both parent species.
