Description: The Alocasia macrorrhiza is an evergreen tropical plant most noted for its upright large veined leaves, commonly referred to as elephant ears. Prefers humus rich well drained soils, morning sun or partial shade and can tolerate wet to boggy areas. This plant can planted in full sun as long as it gets protection from the hot afternoon sun and wind. Keep up the water in hot summers but let dry out in winter so as not to rot the roots.
