Common Name: Canary Island Ivy

Description: The Canary Island ivy is a fast growing, evergreen vine with dark green triangular leaves (much larger than Hedera helix) on reddish stems. Will attach itself via rootlets on the base of stems to fences, walls and other garden structures. A shade lover, but can deal with full sun, small periods of drought and is totally cold hardy. Prefers fertile moist well drained soil, but not really fussy and can handle a wide range of conditions. This plant is perfect for shade gardens, for rockeries, covering walls and as a ground cover.

Position: Full sun to shade
