Common Name: Spartan Juniper, Pencil Cedar
Description: Also known as Juniperus chinensis 'Spartan'. This variety is sometimes described as a shorter, fatter "Pencil Pine". It has emerald green foliage and will grow in sun or shade. Like all conifers this is a tough plant and can deal with dry spells and extremes of temperature once established. It is ideal near swimming pools, tennis courts or as a screening plant in narrow spaces.
