Description: An espalier is a practice where a plant is trained to grow flat against a structure, whether that be a fence, railing or a trellis etc. This is done by pruning and then tying the plant to the structure. The Lisbon is vigourous and prolific and has a bright yellow, thin, smooth skin. The ovaliform yellow fruit are juicy and high in acidity with a bitter, acidic taste and is popular for cooking and cleaning. Fruit is produced in the winter months.
