Common Name: Brittle Gum

Description: A medium sized native tree which normally forms one trunk but can have multiple and develops a wide spreading canopy. Produces creamy white flowers in early Summer through early Autumn. Most noted for its smooth powdery white, cream or grey bark with red flecks. It can adapt to a wide range of soils, conditions and is tolerant of frosts. An ideal Australian tree for open spaces, in parks and gardens. Great habitat for native birds and insects. Known as the Brittle Gum because it can drop limbs, careful when planting around structures or where people gather.
