Description: The Elaeagnus x ebbingei is a hady, fast growing, evergreen shrub. It has dense bushy habit with slightly crinkled dusty green leaves speckled with silver dots and a silver underside, new growth has a gold tinge. also makes it an ideal evergreen hedge for inland gardens. Insignificant but highly scented flowers appear in Autumn and edible berries in the Spring. It is fast growing, extremely salt tolerant and will grow near the water's edge. Fully hardy, it will also grow inland and can take shade. It will grow in poor soils but does require free-draining ground and will not do well on damp sites.
